The IODA2008 Annual Conference, Accra Ghana, is being organized by IODA in collaboration with Organisation Capacity Improvement Consultants International (OCIC) and the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. The venue for the conference will be the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Centre (KAIPTC). The theme for the conference - "Growing Together in Partnership" - is very reflective of the affirmed interest of IODA to further consolidate its social cohesion, commonness of purpose to create new thinking to improve governance and growth of nations, businesses and individual through new paradigm shifts in this fast changing world. The theme of the conference also exemplifies a Ghanaian proverb which says that "You cannot tell how crooked the path is as you cut your way through, but the one following you can" Mentorships and collaboration are indeed the very bedrocks of positive partnerships.

Language

The official language is English. There are however several local languages that are also spoken across the length and breadth of Ghana - including Akan (Twi, Fanti), Nzema, Dagbani, Ewe, Ga-Adangbe, Hausa, Guan and many more. In various parts of the country, you may find a variation of these and other languages in the form of dialects.

But never worry, everywhere you go, if you dont find someone who speaks English or even pidgin English, then you are not in Ghana!!
